About

Helmed by Alex Gibney's Academy Award-winning Jigsaw Productions in 2017, Nizar's credits include: The Last Shot (Viceland), a 6-part verite docuseries that follows rejected American basketball players who are reborn as “Mercenaries” that compete in underground cash-tournaments in rural Mexico. Dirty Money, Season 2 (Netflix) chapter into the tangled web of illegal gold mining and environmental destruction behind the business of gold that flows into the U.S. from Perus Amazon Rainforest; and Generation Hustle (HBO Max), a 10-part anthology, on the lengths young con-artists will go to for fame, fortune, and power. Since the pandemic, he has developed and produced attachments to Stephen Maing's upcoming cinéma vérité account on one of the most volatile and perplexing eras of American history & identity: The Great Experiment; Vikram Gandhis investigative pursuit of Satoshi Nakamoto: Cryptoland; Apple TV+s 6-part choronical of Lionel Messi's captivating transition to Major League Soccer: Messi Meets America, and the Emmy Nominated HBO feature documentary on the meteoric rise and stranger-than-fiction implosion of the theatrical movie subscription app: MOVIEPASS, MOVIECRASH, directed by Muta Ali. Nizar is a member of the Producer's Guild of America, and founding committee member of the Jigsaw Productions WGAE Freelancers Union. He now currently resides between Brooklyn & South Florida working in development on his directorial feature documentary debut: THE FARM.
