Laura Klairmont is a New York based director and producer. She is currently a producer at CNN where she directs documentary style pieces about outstanding individuals from around the world who have made a demonstrable impact in human rights, the environment, education, and health care. She's been working at CNN’s New York bureau since 2011. Prior to that, she covered politics as a news assistant for CNN in Washington D.C. In 2015, she was awarded a fellowship with the International Reporting Project and spent a month in Bolivia investigating and reporting on health and development issues throughout the country. She's covered stories across Latin America, including Colombia, Guatemala, and Peru.
