About

Katherin Machalek is a documentary filmmaker based in Copenhagen. Her work has shown at DOC NYC, the NY Shorts Film Festival, Chicago South Asian Film Festival, NY Media Center, Union Docs, Altitudes Festival, and in Brooklyn Magazine. Inspired by Chantal Akerman and Irene Lusztig, her films examine identity, domesticity, intergenerational feminist dialogue, and psychic inheritance.

The Video Consortium is a global nonprofit media organization that supports the world’s nonfiction filmmakers and video journalists to tell bold stories that change the world.
