Ascent #3: Batian Peak at Elephant Hill

Join us on our fourth prep hike on our Road to Batian Peak Mission. Starting from Njabini Forest Station, we trekked through lush forests, climbed steep bamboo trails, and pushed through muddy paths to reach the breathtaking moorlands. The higher we climbed, the tougher it got, but the stunning views of the Aberdares were worth every step. The summit at 3650m asl, gave us an introduction of what lies ahead. The hike up the hill was 5hrs and the descent took us 3.5 hours. It was tough, it was stunning, and it was the perfect training ground for altitude and endurance.
