About

Jennifer Luby is a French-born journalist and filmmaker with 15 years of experience directing and producing nonfiction television content. She started her career as a reporter before turning to documentaries. After directing nonfiction films for French public TV – with subjects including wrongful conviction, amateur rock bands, MMA fighters and becoming a nun – she moved to New York in 2012. For two years, Jennifer traveled as a freelancer to more than 30 states. In 2014, she launched her own production company and produced dozens of longform pieces for international news networks. In 2022, she landed her first American gig at Left/Right and joined the critically acclaimed docuseries The New York Times Presents for a year as a producer. Her specialties include: human interest stories, portraits of everyday life heroes, investigative journalism (true crime as much as economics), politics, religion, race, and gender issues, mass culture and counter-culture topics. Jennifer has interviewed dozens of high-profile personalities: former presidents Francois Hollande, Nicolas Sarkozy, and Donald Trump; artists, directors, and entertainment figures such as Ron Meyer, Michael Douglas, Katie Perry and Michael Moore; chess grandmaster Gary Kasparov; journalism legend Bill Kurtis, and iconoclastic humorist Fran Lebowitz.
