Francesca is an award-winning cinematographer, director and journalist at TIME. Trianni’s first feature-length documentary, Paradise Without People (Best Documentary: Taormina Film Festival, American Documentary Film Festival), follows two pregnant Syrian refugees who find themselves navigating motherhood while held in refugee camps. A feature debut from TIME, the documentary offers a distinct, complex perspective on the worldwide refugee crisis. Trianni’s work has screened at festivals internationally, including DOC NYC, Big Sky and the Stockholm film festival and won Best Documentary at the Taormina Film Festival and at AmDocs. In 2018, Trianni filmed and produced Finding Home, a multimedia project that won more than a dozen awards, including World Press Photo for Innovative Storytelling, a National Murrow Award and Pictures of the Year International. She received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding New Approaches in Documentary. A native Italian speaker, Trianni graduated with honors from the Columbia Journalism School in New York.
