About

Emma Fidel is a filmmaker and journalist in NYC. She was the U.S. field producer for "In the Same Breath" (Sundance 2021, Peabody Award), co-producer of "Take Your Pills: Xanax" (Netflix 2022), and co-producer of "Once Upon a Time in Uganda" (DOC NYC Grand Jury Prize 2021). Emma is also the field producer for Raoul Peck's upcoming untitled feature doc. Emma previously worked as a director/producer at VICE News for four years, telling stories about politics and policy, gender, and climate change. She has reported for The New York Times, Bloomberg News, and the Associated Press. She is currently finishing her feature directorial debut: "Queen of New York" is a vérité doc about a non-binary drag queen trying to make history by running for New York City Council.
