About

Chantal Encalada is an emerging documentary producer and the Community Manager at the Video Consortium. Previously, Chantal was the Production Associate for Gidalya Pictures, an award-winning documentary production company based in Brooklyn, NY. There, she was part of the team behind ONE SOUTH: PORTRAIT OF A PSYCH UNIT, a two-part film series on HBO Max. Prior to Gidalya Pictures, Chantal was the Administrative Coordinator for the Documentary Producers Alliance (DPA) as well as the Programming Assistant for the Boston Latino International Film Festival. She was also the Associate Producer for RAISING THE FLOOR, winner of the Best Documentary Short at the GlobeDocs Film Festival. Apart from the VC, Chantal is a proud member of Brown Girls Doc Mafia and the DPA's Ethics Committee.
