Chai Dingari is an Emmy-nominated Video Producer and Editor with eleven years of experience in New York City digital media. Currently, he is working as a Director for More Perfect Union, a progressive media non-profit that tells working class stories. He has also been a part of the New York Times Opinion and HuffPost video teams where he edited quick-turn breaking news video essays, produced politically resonant Op-Eds with real-world impact and taken the lead on developing multiple enterprise series. Outside of digital video, Chai has also produced his own documentary films. In 2015, a directed Hyphen American, a short piece on his family's story of immigrating to the United States. And in 2018 he premiered Nari, an hour long feature documentary that features interviews with dozens of women, aged 10 to 97, from different castes, classes, and backgrounds in the southern states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Chai considers himself a proponent of advocacy journalism and is motivated by the potential of documentary film to lobby for real world policy changes.
