Carolyn McCulley

Carolyn McCulley is an award-winning filmmaker and founder of Citygate Films, where she is a director/producer and editor. Her most recent film, THE RAGE OF EVIL: THOUGHTS FROM A FORMER SCHOOL SHOOTER, won two jury awards from DC Shorts and screened at the Austin Film Festival and other fests, and was ultimately acquired by RYOT Films for HuffPost. She has created nearly 200 branded content or social good films for clients such as Discovery, WebMD, AstraZeneca, Adventure Scientists, International Justice Mission, and more. Citygate Films was hired by the producers of the feature film, MISS VIRGINIA (BET/Netflix, starring Uzo Aduba, Matthew Modine, and Niles Fitch) to create a series of short films about the students positively affected by the real Miss Virginia. Her work has been supported by the Points North Institute, DOC NYC's Only in New York, the Moving Picture Institute, Women in Film & Video, and other regional arts groups. She is also a podcast producer and writer (TWENTY THOUSAND HERTZ, INFINITE CORRIDOR) and the author of three books.
