Aura Benavides, is a documentary filmmaker from Colima. Winner of the Reto Docs challenge of the Zanate Festival de Cine Documental Mexicano, with the shortfilms "Como tumba la palabra" and "Hasta encontrarlos" in 2017 and 2018. She directed the shortfilms "El Occiso" and "Cuando duerme el volcĂĄn".
Recipient of the PECDA COLIMA grant in 2021 and 2023. Sheâs part of the feminist film collective "Cinellas No". Winner of the ââPremio Estatal de la Juventudââ in 2023 in the Artistic Activities category.
