Anusha Datta is an ethnographic documentary filmmaker based in Mumbai (India), and is an alumnus of The Steve Tisch School of Film and Television at Tel Aviv University.

About

Anusha Datta is a non-fiction film director and producer with a key practice in ethnographic research and documentary filmmaking. She is based in Mumbai (India) and is an alumnus of The Steve Tisch School of Film and Television with a MFA specialisation in Documentary Cinema. She is also a cinematographer with a particular skill set for intuitive photography, culturally sensitive narrative building, and experience conducting interviews of participants with a trauma sensitive approach. Anusha is equally passionate about using documentary cinema as a tool to explore human resilience within displaced communities and is currently directing and co-producing her first feature length film about her family's history in the context of the ethnic cleansing of Kashmiri Pandits in 1989. During her postgraduate studies, Anusha received mentorship from award-winning filmmakers like; Ran Tal, Sergei Loznitsa, Netalie Braun, Ohad Milstein, Arnon Goldfinger. She also assisted Emmy winner, Oren Rosenfeld and is an Associate Producer on his upcoming independent documentary 'Mumbai Jews'.
