Join VC Philly and cinéSPEAK for a night of outdoor cinema, fellowship with filmmakers, great music, and food! Video Consortium is supporting cinéSPEAK's annual Under Stars Festival by organizing a gathering for local filmmakers in Philadelphia. Come meet other storytellers while we gather over great food, drinks, and music in Clark Park. After time to hang out and mingle, the film, Summer Qamp will screen for all attendees. This is a great evening to be outside, meet other filmmakers in the city and enjoy a beautiful documentary film.
About the film: Directed by Jen Markowitz, Summer Qamp portrays camp fYrefly, a camp in rural Alberta where queer, non-binary, and trans teens get to just be kids in a supportive space, surrounded by counsellors who relate to their experience. The film had its world premiere at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival and will enjoy its Philadelphia premiere on May 31st at Under the Stars.
