Resilient Reporting: Safety Training for Journalists is a 3-part virtual workshop series presented by Video Consortium in partnership with Radically Rural. Designed for journalists and other visual storytellers, the series offers practical training in physical safety, digital security, and psychological first aid. Led by experts from the International Women's Media Foundation, Freedom of the Press Foundation, and the Media Resilience Network, each workshop provides actionable strategies to help participants assess risk, protect their work, build resilience, and report with greater confidence.

Journalists are trained to cover crises but not always to cope with them. For our third session, the Media Resilience Network's interactive 90-minute training will equip video journalists with practical Psychological First Aid skills to support themselves and their colleagues before, during, and after difficult assignments. Learn how to listen with empathy, manage stress in high-pressure environments, and provide effective initial support when it matters most.

You'll gain practical skills in:

• Emotional regulation for high-stress reporting
• Applying Psychological First Aid principles in the newsroom and the field

A creative strategist with over 20 years of experience in mental health, digital rights, and care in media. Author of “A Human Condition, a play about journalism” and a 2023 Journalism JSK Fellow at Stanford University.
