Join The Philadelphia Inquirer and Video Consortium Philadelphia (VCPHL) for a special screening of 'DERAILED', a short documentary produced by Jenna Miller.

'DERAILED' follows three Philadelphia teenagers and their families through the aftermath of a single night of gun violence, examining the grief, trauma, and lasting consequences that remain long after the headlines fade. Centered on the stories of the three young lives affected, the film offers an intimate look at how violence echoes through individuals, families, and communities.

Following the screening, filmmaker Jenna Miller will join VCPHL co-organizer Aaron Brokenbough for a conversation about adapting a headline news story into a documentary, navigating the ethics of reporting on trauma, and the role of visual journalism in telling complex community stories.

We'll also have a raffle during the evening, with prizes up for grabs.

And the conversation doesn't have to end when the screening does. Join us for an afters gathering downstairs at Independence Beer Garden, where we can continue the conversation, connect with fellow filmmakers, journalists, and media makers, and enjoy a drink together.
