Collaborative Conversations: Coproductions with France

The Video Consortium is thrilled to partner with EURODOC for Collaborative Conversations: Coproduction Across Europe.

Collaborative Conversations is a series of six online workshops with producers and directors across Europe teaching about co-productions and how they vary from country to country.

Taking place online from November through 2026, this monthly series will highlight co-productions with France, Germany, Spain, Italy, the United Kingdom, and Sweden.

Join us for a conversation about the ins and outs of leveraging coproductions with France, led by Jean Laurent Csinidis. In 2010, Jean Laurent created Films de Force Majeure, a production company focused on auteur films and international collaborations. Over the course of his projects, he has developed a particular taste for documentary cinema - which regularly brings him back to the shores of fiction. Since then, he has produced or co-produced 30 films, most of which have been shown in Cannes, Berlin, Locarno, Venice, as well as at the IDFA, Visions du Réel, Rotterdam, Cinéma du Réel, Annecy. Among them, several feature films that have been distributed in France and internationally.

This series costs €3/workshop and is open to the public. If prospective participants find the €3 cost prohibitive, we’ll offer fee waivers. Both of our organizations aim to elevate imaginative nonfiction cinema and build community across the industry and we’re delighted to collaborate to produce this series.

To request a fee waiver, please email hubs@videoconsortium.org.
