Collaborative Conversations is a series of six online workshops with producers and directors across Europe teaching about co-productions and how they vary from country to country.
Taking place online from November through 2026, this monthly series will highlight co-productions with France, Germany, Spain, Italy, the United Kingdom, and Sweden.

Coproductions in France, workshop led by Jean Laurent Csinidis
In 2010, Jean Laurent created Films de Force Majeure, a production company focused on auteur films and international collaborations. Over the course of his projects, he has developed a particular taste for documentary cinema - which regularly brings him back to the shores of fiction. Since then, he has produced or co-produced 30 films, most of which have been shown in Cannes, Berlin, Locarno, Venice, as well as at the IDFA, Visions du Réel, Rotterdam, Cinéma du Réel, Annecy. Among them, several feature films that have been distributed in France and internationally.

Coproductions in Germany, workshop led by Antonia Kilian
Antonia Kilian. Antonia Kilian is a producer, and sometimes a director, living between Kassel and Berlin. She studied Visual Communication and Art and Media at the University of the Arts Berlin, as well as Cinematography at the Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf and at the ISA in Havana, Cuba. For her debut as a producer (and as a director) THE OTHER SIDE OF THE RIVER, which focuses on the struggle for self-determination of a young woman, she filmed for over a year in the Kurdish regions known as Rojava in northeastern Syria. She developed THE OTHER SIDE OF THE RIVER as part of ExOriente, IDFA Summer School, and the Baltic Sea Forum. THE OTHER SIDE OF THE RIVER has won 18 awards at international film festivals, including the German Film Academy Award LOLA for Best Documentary and the Grimme Award, and was shortlisted for the European Film Academy Award in 2021.

Coproductions in Spain, workshop led by Margot Mecca
Margot Mecca. Margot Mecca is an Italian film programmer and producer based in Barcelona. An alumna of Eurodoc and TorinoFilmLab, she works internationally as a freelance producer, guiding both fiction and non-fiction films from development through distribution. She serves on the selection committee of the Festival dei Popoli and is the Head of the industry platform Doc at Work. Margot also regularly collaborates with festivals such as Visions du Réel, FIDMarseille, Majordocs, and the +RAIN Film Festival.

Coproductions in Italy, workshop led by Enrica Capra
Founder and CEO of Graffiti, established in Torino in 2004, and more recently co-founder of the French company Tag Film, set up in Paris in 2019, Enrica Capra has produced (and often co-produced) documentaries, live action and animation films released theatrically in several countries and awarded at important festivals. Her works have often enjoyed the support of Media and Eurimages, and are distributed all over the world. She is a member of EFA.

Coproductions in the UK, workshop led by Reece Cargan and Flore Cosquer
Reece is a BAFTA nominated and RTS award winning producer and founder of production companies ‘Bombito productions’ & ‘Randan’. Reece was selected by Screen International as a Rising Star Scotland. Reece has produced numerous award winning work, most recently he co-produced two features with the Netherlands, Midwinter Break and Where Dragons Live – with support from Screen Scotland and the Netherlands Film Fund.
With years of experience in narrative, commercial and documentary production, Flore joined the core team at Scottish Documentary Institute in 2010 and managed the Institute’s various training initiatives and industry events, including the Edinburgh Pitch, also overseeing the production of the flagship filmmaking program Bridging the Gap. She was appointed Director of SDI in September 2022.

Coproductions in Sweden, workshop led by Mirjam Gelhorn
Mirjam is a free lance producer based in Stockholm, working for companies such as Mantaray Film and Momento Film. She is educated at Södertörns University and The Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm. She produced the films ALL OF OUR HEARTBEATS ARE CONNECTED THROUGH EXPLODING STARS (Vision Du reel, Hot Docs, Guldbagge for best sound design), LAP-SEE LAM - THE ARTIST AND THE SINGING CHEF (2024), THE LANDLORD (2025), and was assistant producer for OUAGA GIRLS (60+ festivals, cinamatic release in Sweden, France, Spain), MADRE (nominated Palme d’Or for best short, Cannes 2016) and TRANSNISTRA (Big Screen Award Rotterdam IFFR, Dragon Award Best Documentary Gothenburg IFF).
This series costs €3/workshop and is open to the public. If prospective participants find the €3 cost prohibitive, we’ll offer fee waivers. Both of our organizations aim to elevate imaginative nonfiction cinema and build community across the industry and we’re delighted to collaborate to produce this series.
