About

He started his filmmaking journey when he was pursuing Undergraduate Mass Communication in Pune city, known as the amphitheater of west India. Although, he has a keen interest in watching documentaries during childhood, it is the film festival that invokes him towards filmmaking. He made a few short films while in college and gaining more knowledge about the aesthetics of art inspired him to take admission in a Direction course from India's esteemed film institute (FTII, PUNE). Earlier inclined towards fiction it is the Werner Herzog documentary Grizzly Man and My best fiend that provoked him to be a documentarian in film school. Thorough research and exploration of different stories that can be told with cinematic angles to awaken a light or inspire the audience to take action are what he believes. Since then he has made two short documentaries and worked as an assistant in his friend's documentary films. He also writes, edit, operate the camera, and directed twenty short ads for an Indian online self-publishing and audiobook portal company Pratilipi. He looks more for women-oriented and environment-based real stories that have not been yet told to society that also exists within the society but are vulnerable and ignored. Currently, he is investigating the rhetorical struggle of the environmental movement with aesthetically innovative, and socially challenging practices and how documentary practice provides a means to express desires and frustrations, the eagerness to fight for social change, and the longing to carve out a space to stage various stories perceptions of and in the world that would otherwise find no outlet.
