About

Eavvon O'Neal is a Philadelphia-born and Brooklyn, NY-based filmmaker. Initially rooted in music documentaries, he has a passion for fiction and non-fiction storytelling and enjoys experimenting with the conventions of both forms. His film MISTER BACKLASH premiered in competition at the New Hampshire Film Fest. He edited the documentary #LOVEYOURZ for Director Nick Bentgen, M.I.D NOTES for Director Janice Lagata, and LIZZIE NO: LOYALTY with Director Annalise Lockhart. He has also edited multiple series for Vox, Netflix, and Complex in addition to creating and directing the web series Selector and Vintage Shopping for Pitchfork and Complex Networks respectively. All of his works explore the various narratives of black life, with the hopes of finding a space where critique and entertainment can co-exist. Ultimately, he hates talking in the third person, but apparently, that's a thing people do on the internet.
