About

About Doug Fine I'm a filmmaker, comedic bestselling author, regenerative hemp farmer and solar-powered goat herder. My latest book, American Hemp Farmer, was nominated as the Santa Fe Reporters 2021 Book of the Year. American Hemp Farmer is now in development as a feature documentary that was awarded Best New Mexico Documentary Feature at the 2024 Santa Fe Film Festival. My focus for 15 years has been sustainable living for regular folks, including the Boston Globe bestseller Farewell, My Subaru. I have cultivated hemp food for farm-to-table products and seed-building in six U.S. states and assisted multiple Native American Tribal projects. My own hemp seeds have been used to clean soil in a New Mexico university study. In addition to my own crops, Iadvises clients worldwide on regenerative hemp and polyculture. Willie Nelson kindly called my work a blueprint for the America of the future. I've appeared on Conan and the Tonight Show, been covered in Smithsonian, and reported from five continents for NPR.
