About

Ziggy Gamble (b. 1989, Quezon City, Philippines) is a graduate of Temple University’s Film and Media Arts Program, Class of ‘11. His thesis, The Journey Home, was the recipient of Temple’s CARAS Grant, The Derek Freese Award, and the Audience Award at the 13th Annual Diamond Screen Film Festival. Ziggy found his start in the film industry in the sound department, boom operating and mixing for the feature film The Happy Sad (dir. Rodney Evans, 2013), the short film The Bravest, The Boldest (dir. Moon Molson, 2014), and both the short and feature sci-fi drama film Advantageous (dir. Jennifer Phang, 2015) which premiered at Sundance Film Festival. In 2014, he had the opportunity to move away from sound and back to his roots in post-production, editing (as well as directing and filming) a docu-web series about the foster care system in America while embedded with the non-profit One Simple Wish on a cross-country road trip. He edited the narrative feature I AM THAT (dir. Joy Marzec, 2018) which went on to win Best New Mexico Feature at the Santa Fe Independent Film Festival, Excellence in Film at the Defy Film Festival, Critic's Choice at the L’Age d’Or International Arthouse Film Festival, and Best Feature at the Houston Pacific Islander Film Festival. It was released by Green Apple Entertainment and distributed on Amazon Prime and DirecTV. He also edited the feature documentary film Beyond Sixty (dir. Melissa Davey, 2021) which screened at Hot Springs Women’s International Film Festival where it won the Audience Award, Los Angeles Women’s International Film Festival, New Hope Film Festival where it won the Female Eye Filmmaker Award and the Audience Award. Beyond Sixty was also nominated for Best Documentary at High Falls Women's Film Festival. It is currently slated for a spring release through Gravitas. Ziggy additionally edited the short film By The Lake (dir. Hunter Davis, 2019) which screened at Philadelphia Independent Film Festival, Oregon Film Festival, and Los Angeles Cinefest.
