Despite being involved in journalism for almost a decade, I found my passion in observational storytelling, delving into the intricacies and ambiguities of the world.

About

Qinling Li hails from Changsha, a city in the southern region of China renowned for its high number of investigative journalists per capita. Her work appeared on PBS Frontline, Scripps News, Al Jazeera English, Newsweek, and Atlas Obscura. In 2018, she briefly returned to her alma mater, Columbia Journalism School, as an adjunct professor. She co-edited "One of Many (2019)," which was selected at The Art of Brooklyn Film Festival and Out on Film, and was recognized as the Director of Photography and Editor for "Fierceness Served! The ENIKAlley Coffeehouse (2021)." During the pandemic, her short films won two categories of Southern California Journalism Awards. Qinling is a member of several organizations, including Brown Girls Doc Mafia, Video Consortium, Overseas Press Club of America, and Asian American Doc Network.

The Video Consortium is a global nonprofit media organization that supports the world’s nonfiction filmmakers and video journalists to tell bold stories that change the world.
