About

Kait Harlow is documentary filmmaker and editor. She is part of DOCNOMADS, a Creative Documentary Masters Programme between Portugal, Hungary and Belgium. Her filmmaking practices are grounded in collaboration, inventing participatory and performative methods for working with protagonists. Her curiosity about social and ecological interconnectedness steer her towards stories about queer identity and the non-human world. A nomad originally from the U.S. South, she has lived and worked in the USA, Peru, Bolivia, Mexico, Spain, Portugal, Hungary, and Belgium. Kait earned a B.A. in visual journalism from UNC Chapel Hill, and has previously worked as an intern for American Documentary, UnionDocs, and New Media Advocacy Project.
