Juan A. Izaguirre is a Mexican-American filmmaker that works in both the narrative and documentary realms of filmmaking. Through evocative and purposeful imagery, Juan focuses his lens on stories surrounding identity and its intersections with race, ethnicity, sexuality, and gender norms within our communities. His past work has included serving as a producer, cinematographer, and editor for the PBS documentary series Arts In Context. For his camera work on that series, Juan was awarded two Emmys in the Texas region. He was also selected to participate in the ASC Vision Mentorship Program created by the American Society of Cinematographers. Juan’s work has premiered at film festivals such as Cannes Film Festival, South by Southwest, CineFestival, Cine Las Americas, and many more.
