About

Jean is an award-winning film editor and producer, who developed her love of exploring nuanced and complex human experiences as a Korean teenager adjusting to her new life in America. Her most recent work is LEE SOO MAN: THE KING OF K-POP, a documentary feature centering one of the pioneers of the Korean Wave and K-Pop. It was produced by This Machine, and will be distributed by Amazon MGM Studios in 2024. She also edited and helped produce critically acclaimed and award-winning documentary features such as BAD PRESS (Special Jury Award at Sundance Film Festival, Critics’ Choice Award Nomination), ACCEPTED (Emmy Award Nomination, Audience Award at SFF) and SAVE MY SEOUL (Grand Jury Prize at LAAPFF). Her other credits include LIQUOR STORE DREAMS (Tribeca, POV), ON THESE GROUNDS (SXSW, POV), NEVER TOO LATE: THE DOC SEVERINSEN STORY (Full Frame, POV), and PERMISSION TO EXIST. In 2023 she was selected for the DOC NYC “40 Under 40” list.
