Janis Vogel is an editor of television series, documentaries, narrative films and music videos. She is also a mentor and coach for film industry professionals.

About

Janis Vogel is an editor of television series, documentaries, narrative films and music videos. She is also a mentor and coach for film industry professionals. Born in Germany, but raised on the island of Martha's Vineyard, she draws on a rich background of realities and identities. She received her MFA at the City College of New York and burst from the post graduate gate with her thesis film Drop, which won the Independent Film Project and New York Mayor's Office of Film's NextGen Award. In 2017 she worked on Spike Lee’s, She’s Gotta Have It, for Netflix. In 2018 she made another human being, and has since worked on the series P-Valley, the narrative film Master, a documentary directed by Laura Poitras, and 2 seasons of the revolutionary television series Ziwe. She's also the co-founder of The Blue Collar Post Collective, a grassroots initiative supporting emerging talent in post production.

The Video Consortium is a global nonprofit media organization that supports the world’s nonfiction filmmakers and video journalists to tell bold stories that change the world.
