About

Drea Castro is a director and producer who's passion lies with helping tell underrepresented stories. She is WIF 2022 Mentee, WWF Cohort Mentee 2022, a recipient of the Woman of Her Word Grant as well as a Boston International Film Fest winner, for The Unknown - with her directing film debut starring John Fiore. Her upcoming work includes her feature film documentary, Baldy for the Blind, Browned, a docu-series about Chefs of Color and she just finished producing the film, Purgy’s. She is currently in development for a series about the Filipino diaspora, and gearing up to shoot a short film that tells the journey of grief through the eyes of a 7 year old girl.

The Video Consortium is a global nonprofit media organization that supports the world’s nonfiction filmmakers and video journalists to tell bold stories that change the world.
