About

Shaheen Nazerali is a video editor and filmmaker. As an editor, she mostly cuts documentaries. As a filmmaker, she develops scripted series and shorts. News and challenging topics inspire her creations, focusing on nuance and variety of perspective in each tale. A notable project in this vein is an interactive web series, Rearview Mirror, piloted with support from Tribeca Film Institute. Inspired by true stories, the viewers choices change the fate of the protagonist. As a post production professional, her credits include PBS (American Masters: Anik Khan), HBO (A Choice of Weapon: Legacy of Gordon Parks), and a Vimeo Staff Pick (Disruption). She was an additional editor on Film Independent's, Duty Free, and lead editor for How She Moves. In 2019 she was Editor-in-Residence at SXSW, participating in a 24-hour film challenge, at a hackathon. She has continued to sharpen her short-form storytelling in the branded content realm, editing for Conde-Naste, Weight Watchers, and more recently as Director of Post Production for Vox Creative. Born in The Netherlands to multi-linguals, she also speaks French, Dutch, Spanish and Urdu. After college she lived in New York for thirteen years. Now, she lives in Santa Monica, California.
