About

With a decade of training as an Emmy award-winning journalist, Ugonna knows how to get to the emotional truth of a story. She brings that same honesty to her directing work with vibrant, intricately woven, and inspiring portraits of everyday life. Ugonna is drawn to stories that disrupt the status quo and put undertapped communities front and center. Her experiences as a Black, queer, first-generation immigrant woman infuse her art with fresh perspective, nuance, and cultural relevance. Her goal is not to be inclusive but to be expansive and encourage audiences to embrace the rich complexities of our shared human experience. With this ethos in mind, Ugonna helps brands and media outlets craft mission-driven non-fiction, documentary, and branded content with originality and style.
