About

Jane has led, started-up, innovated and supported journalism on every platform. At free range media LLC, she advises nonprofit media outlets and organizations and their leadership to make them more inclusive and sustainable. She helped lead digital transformation as the former Executive Director of the Online News Association (ONA), the world’s largest membership organization of digital journalists. Priors include Pew's Project for Excellence in Journalism’s State of the News Media Report; the Center for Public Integrity, and Managing Editor at Knight-Ridder/Tribune Information Services, building on her years as a local and state journalist. She recently served as Board Chair of both the Student Press Law Center and Chicas Poderosas, and is a current Board member of New Hope Midcoast in Maine, where she lives with her husband and a river full of seals.
