About

Sasha Rainbow is a director whose first award winning short documentary Kofi and Lartey, about two boys, set on one of the world’s biggest electronic waste dumps in Ghana, is being developed into a feature film. Her second award winning short documentary Kamali, about a seven year old Indian girl breaking gender stereotypes, is currently qualified for the 2020 Academy awards and is distributed by RYOT films. Sasha was selected for the BFI Network X BAFTA Crew 2018 and 19 and has recently finished a months long artists residency at Yaddo in up-state New York. For the past few years she has been focusing on film to highlight social causes, which has taken her around the world to places such as Ghana, India, Romania and Thailand. Sasha believes storytelling can throw light onto communities to showcase heroic role models, which is just what the world needs.
