Ruth Fertig is a documentary producer with more than 20 years of experience across a range of projects, most recently PBS's Caregiving series. Early in her career, she had the privilege of learning from storytelling masters like Barbara Kopple and RJ Cutler, and she has since worked on feature documentaries, docu-series, and specials for streamers and networks such as Hulu, HBO, NBC, and Discovery. She also spent nearly a decade creating short-form social impact content for the UN and humanitarian organizations across four continents. Her own short documentaries have won a Student Academy Award and a CINE Golden Eagle. She has an MFA from the University of Texas at Austin, where she was a Hutchison Fellow, and a BA in History from Columbia University.
