Nicole Teeny is an Slamdance award-winning filmmaker who grew up in a censored community where most movies and media were prohibited. She started NYU film school having seen only one R rated film. Now, Nicole’s feature and short docs have appeared on Netflix, Kanopy, Sundance Channel, HuffPost, played in theaters nationwide, and been selected for the US State Department’s “American Film Showcase”. Hollywood Reporter called her feature BIBLE QUIZ “instantly lovable”, the LA Times said it was “smart, funny, and disarming”, and Village Voice said it was “vulnerable and charming”. She’s in post-production on another feature BULLETPROOF STOCKINGS and in development on GIRL V HORSE. Nicole’s been an artist in residence at VCCA, Brush Creek, Arts Kibbutz, and collaborated with the MIT Media Lab, Bloomberg Video, and HuffPost. Now Nicole watches all the R-rated films she wants.
