I am a part-time documentary filmmaker based in Berlin, Germany.

About

Ilya was born in Russia, raised in the US and now lives in Germany. From the first day his family purchased a camcorder, he was running around and shooting silly horror films with friends and family. Although he put the camera away for many years to pursue a "real career", later in life he came back to film, now focusing primarily on documentary. Many of his films focus on music and the role it plays in people's lives - in transmitting memories, in uniting communities and in helping people deal with their lives.

The Video Consortium is a global nonprofit media organization that supports the world’s nonfiction filmmakers and video journalists to tell bold stories that change the world.
