About

Jody is a photographer and videographer. Since 2013 she has taught art, photography and filmmaking around the tri-state area, primarily working with underserved communities such as justice-involved youth and english language-learning immigrants. She focus on connecting with young people, sourcing tools for them to express themselves, instructing them in technical skills (ie 3 point lighting, a deep understanding of how cameras work) and nurturing vibrant creative communities. Her work has brought her to places like Rikers Island and East Ramapo NY. Beginning in 2019, Jody has been producing and shooting work for others (Windows short film, Die Jim Crow Records) and directing a feature documentary about how land use decisions reshaped a NY community. Jody is also a visual artist and actively exhibiting photographer: jodyborhanidamico.com
