About

Alyse Shorland is a freelance director producer working in the non-fiction / journalism space. She's helped launch some of the most ambitious projects of the past decade, including bringing storied New York Times journalism to cinematic life on "The Weekly," and helping shape HBO's first and only, host-less nightly newscast, Vice News Tonight. Alyse won 2 Emmys for specials she produced at Vice -- one following an immigrant family from separation to reunion, and another about the differing perspectives on the Kavanaugh confirmation hearings. Before Vice, Alyse was a features and breaking news producer at CBS, covering everything from world events, to the legalization of marijuana in Colorado and musician profiles. She got her start at CNN, helping launch the In America documentary series with Soledad O'Brien.
