About

Johanna Campbell Case is a documentary filmmaker and film editor with a background in design, photojournalism and music. She is a co-founder of Brøfriends Media, a small female-led production company that focuses on documentary, advocacy, and marketing content. She is interested in stories about anti-refugee sentiments in the US, capitalist American spiritualism (#wellnessculture), and exploring frameworks that disrupt the hierarchical and problematic lineage of non-fiction filmmaking. Johanna was a Zolberg Fellow with the IRC Middle East Research and Development Hub, in Amman, Jordan, producing videos for Syrian community innovators. She holds an MA from The New School in Media Studies and Documentary Filmmaking.
