About

A video reporter and producer, Jingnan Peng has created a wide range of news videos at top media outlets. He has run the streets of New York City capturing breaking news for AFP, one of the world's three major newswires. At Quartz, he put together viral social media videos on technology and science. Now at the Christian Science Monitor, Jing makes creative, cinematic news features that highlight solutions and avoid a polarizing tone. He has also written and directed an award-winning fictional film with substantial involvement of people with disabilities in all aspects of production. Born and raised in Beijing, Jing spend most of his childhood and teenage years studying math Olympics. He discovered a passion for literature and film in high school, and went on to pursue his passion at Yale and Columbia Journalism School. Jing is fluent in Mandarin and French, proficient in German, and aggressively practicing his Japanese.
