About

Diane Quon is an Academy Award-nominated producer who worked as a marketing executive for 17 years at NBC and at Paramount Pictures in LA before moving back to her hometown of Chicago. Diane’s hope is to produce films that can make a positive difference. She produced the Kartemquin documentaries: Oscar and Emmy nominated, Peabody and Sundance award-winning film, MINDING THE GAP (Hulu, POV) THE DILEMMA OF DESIRE with Peabody Award-winning director Maria Finitzo (Showtime, Utopia); Emmy-nominated FINDING YINGYING by first time filmmaker, Jiayan “Jenny” Shi (SXSW 2020 Special Jury Recognition for Breakthrough Voice, MTVDocs); and FOR THE LEFT HAND directed by Gordon Quinn and Leslie Simmer (PBS). In addition, she produced the documentary WUHAN WUHAN by Yung Chang (POV), and is in production on the documentaries: UNTITLED SAM AND OMAR PROJECT, THE UNTITLED 19TH NEW FILM, UNTITLED HBO DOCUMENTARY and in post-production on SURF NATION. She is also developing a fiction film based on a New York Times best-seller, as well as Bing Liu’s first original screenplay. Diane is an AMPAS and PGA member, the recipient of the 2020 Cinereach Producer Award and is a 2021/2018/2017 Film Independent Fellow and a 2019 Sundance Creative Producing Fellow.
