Amel Guettatfi is a multi-Emmy Award-winning journalist and documentary filmmaker who’s reported on some of the Middle East and Africa’s biggest humanitarian crises. In January 2021, Amel and her colleagues were the first - and to date only - western journalists to embed with Wagner mercenaries in their most successful theatre in the Central African Republic for three weeks, gaining unparalleled access to their operations and their modus operandi. Most recently, Amel and her team were awarded the prestigious Edward R. Murrow of the Overseas Press Club for a hard hitting investigative story on the impact of the six year war in Yemen on its children. That same piece was also awarded a 2022 Emmy Award for outstanding continuing coverage.
