About

Originally inspired by Spike Lee's Mo' Better Blues, Tony Leonardo studied theater at Notre Dame, film at Brooklyn College and screenwriting at TheFIlmSchool in Seattle. He has also immersed himself in the quixotic, egalitarian, individualistic and mad competitive sport of ultimate frisbee as a player, broadcast commentator for the two-time AUDL champions New York Empire, author of two books and autodidact archivist. After making the award-winning short hybrid fiction/non-fiction film Kaya, Tony has embarked on bringing ultimate to the big screen in with a feature documentary currently in production titled The Lot: the Early Days and Nights of Ultimate Frisbee.
