About

Ryan Gleeson is a Chicago-based documentary filmmaker. Raised in southern Indiana, he developed a lifelong attraction to telling stories of underrepresented people and places. With fifteen years of filmmaking experience, he honed his craft at Kartemquin Films and later led post-production for the Sundance Institute’s renowned Documentary Edit & Story Lab. As a crew member, he has contributed to Oscar-nominated films (Minding the Gap, Abacus, Edith+Eddie), Emmy-winning projects (Life Itself, The Trials of Muhammad Ali, The Homestretch, The Flagmakers), and found himself everywhere from Beirut to the Super Bowl. Through his commercial filmmaking and consulting business, he directs and shoots short documentaries, music videos, and strives to bring impactful stories to life with creativity and care.
