About

Rogelio Martell is a Peruvian filmmaker, photojournalist, and cultural storyteller dedicated to preserving indigenous traditions and sharing cross-cultural narratives. Originally from Lima, Peru, he began his film studies under the mentorship of acclaimed director Armando Robles Godoy. His early career as a photojournalist and writer led him to publish articles on shamanism, sacred sites, and indigenous spirituality in magazines across South America, the United States, and Europe. Rogelio’s passion lies in documenting rituals, traditions, and the evolving identities of indigenous communities in the modern world. His visual storytelling is driven by a deep respect for ancestral knowledge and a commitment to cultural preservation. After relocating to the United States, he pursued studies in photography at the School of Visual Arts in New York, documentary production at UCLA, and cinema and television production at Los Angeles City College. He is the founder of Martell Media Productions, where he develops and produces original film and television content focused on bridging stories between Peru and the United States. His recent documentaries include Chicha USA (2023), Magic Healers of Los Angeles (2022), and Her Magical Garden (2021), among others.
