About

Rianne Pyle is a director and producer who has directed three documentaries. Her most recent documentary, Freedom Day (2021), has screened at several festivals such as Out on Film (2021), Inside Out Toronto (2022), and the Lighthouse International Film Festival (2022) where it won Best Short Doc. In 2021, she also produced Millie Moon which has been an official selection for the Montclair Film Festival (2022) and has won several awards at festivals including the Best Narrative Short at Europe Film Festival (2022) and Best Mid Length Film at the Sydney Womens International film festival (2022). Her sophomore short documentary, Vic Barrett: Youth Voice follows Vic Barrett, a climate change activist, who is suing the United States government over their climate change policies premiered at the School of Visual Arts documentary showcase, Someone You Know in 2019. Rianne also directed, Rockstar, Producer, TankGod, Studio Session (2017) which follows Tank God a 10 x Platinum hip hop producer, who has worked with stars such as Post Malone, Jay Critch and more that debuted at the Ways of Seeing showcase in 2018. Rianne has also worked as an Assistant Director and Creative Director on several music videos which have accumulated over 7+ million views collectively on YouTube and have debuted on platforms such as BET Jams and Lyrical Lemonade for artists such as Jay Critch, Farruko, and Milly. Rianne currently works as a Production Coordinator for Oscar nominated and Emmy winning production company Our Time Projects. As a native New Yorker, Rianne draws inspiration from the cultural diversity of the communities she lives in and is passionate about telling the stories of people of color. Her portfolio includes pieces that highlight the work of activists and creatives, aiming to inspire and serve as engaging introductions for young adults of color.
