About
Max is an LA-based producer and post-production whiz with deep experience on all sides of crafting a story: narratively, visually, sonically. He is a voracious learner seeking a challenge and opportunity to create extraordinary content with amazing people.
Max's background in post began in the University of Michigan Film, TV and Video department where he connected with storytelling through film editing. He made a few short docs there, in addition to editing a few short narrative films which went on to play at regional festivals.
From there, he moved to Washington, DC, where he assistant edited on several shows across the Discovery family of networks (Discovery, TLC, Animal Planet etc).
His work with Discovery led him to AE work on shows in LA, where he made the move to the entertainment marketing world, working on creative content as well as long form BTS/making-of featurettes for major studio movies. He worked in this realm for roughly a decade, moving from AE to post manager to post producer in that time, spending the last few years doing client-facing work on these marketing campaigns as well as post-producing a 30-minute doc about a nonprofit medical org which played at several festivals in 2023-24. He has most recently left the entertainment marketing world and is looking to apply the skills he has gathered over the past decade+ to doc storytelling.
